4 Best Budget travel, tips from Indian travellers

We, Indians, love to travel; travel and take pictures and update our social media profiles with some of our #travel goals and insta-worthy images. But let’s admit that travelling can be pretty heavy on pockets and we certainly don’t believe in splurging our hard-earned money on unwanted things. We try to save as much as we can while travelling by coming up with some interesting #travelhacks, ideas that might be ridiculously crazy to others! But hey, who cares till it’s not burning a hole in our pockets?

If you are a true Indian, check how many of these you know of. If not, it is time to learn from us and save some bucks!

1) Save on hotels by choosing destinations where ‘close’ relatives live

Well admit it, we have done this more than once! Fiddle for places where choti chachi ki mami, bade papa k pote, tauji ki sali ke damad live (and the list in never-ending)! Come on now, who would like to spend unnecessary amount on hotels when you have so many, like so many ‘close’ relatives living in the city you are travelling to? It would be stupid, right?

2)Save on food bills by carrying homemade meals
Why should we eat train’s ‘unhealthy’ food or a flight’s bland food, or a restaurant’s when we have got our own aloo parathas, puri bhaji,

aam ka achar and besan ka ladoo with us? I mean it’s such a waste of money, and we love our home-cooked meals even while travelling. There’s no harm in that. Clearly.

3)Complimentary buffet at the hotel, a must!

If we don’t find any ‘close relative’ in the city we are travelling to (too sad), we prefer to stay at a hotel serving lavish ‘complimentary’ buffet that we never miss! I mean the complimentary buffet consists of a variety of delicacies, which otherwise would have cost a bomb. Certainly a big no to that!

4)Saving on flight fares by early booking

This is something not only Indians do, but is a rule followed universally. We are meticulous planners, and grab the cheapest fare flights and spend on shopping instead.
