How to apply makeup step by step for beginners

Is there a right order to apply your makeup? This may be one of the oldest questions in the beauty book. The topic is much debated, even among professional makeup artists. And while there's no hard-and-fast rule when it comes to your beauty routine — different things work for different people — there are some general guidelines. So, to help you with the sequence of events, we've come up with an easy-to-follow checklist for how to apply makeup correctly.

1)Start with clean skin
Wash with a gentle cleanser or simply use a toner to wipe away any impurities from your skin.

TIPS:Rub few ice cubes on your face and then apply makeup. This will help the makeup to stay well on your face and also last longer. Closes pores: Simply Rubbing ice cubes over your pores helps to decrease the size of the pores and also close them well.

2)Apply a light moisturizer
This will keep your skin from getting too oily during the day, and will help moisturize any dry patches on your skin. If you know you have oily skin don't skip moisturizer entirely; instead try a gel based formula that your skin will absorb quickly.

TIPS:Wait five minutes before putting on foundation (see the next step) so that the moisturizer can sink in.

3)moisturizer or a light foundation to your skin
Apply just a few spots with your fingers to your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin, then blend with fingers, or a foundation brush, working the spots outwards from the center in all directions. Be sure to choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and when in doubt choose a slightly lighter shade over a darker one. This will help you avoid looking orange and give you a more natural look.

TIPS:If you want more coverage, you can use a makeup sponge to apply, using the same blending technique.just use wet blender or sponge for better result or you can also use wet cotton if you didn't have sponge or blender.

4)Put a little concealer under the eyes
Use a small pointed brush to dot a bit where under-eye circles are darkest, usually at the inner and outer corners of the eye. Add a speck to other blemishes that aren't covered by the foundation and blend into the skin. }

TIPS:There's a little controversy about whether a concealer should be the same shade as your skin or ever-so-slightly lighter; however, it should never be lighter than one shade away from your natural tone. Look for something as close as you can find to your skin tone and err on the lighter side if need be

5)Set the concealer and moisturizer
With a translucent powder. Apply it to your face, ideally using a velvet-y powder puff (as opposed to a powder brush, as that leaves a lot of loose powder) in a pressing motion. Use a powder brush to flick off any excess.
TIPS: If you are using a powder brush to apply, tap off the excess powder before applying to your face in circular motions

6)Blush, highlighter, or bronzer
A flawless complexion is the it-girl accessory always, IMO. And to give your complexion a finishing touch, sweep on a blush, highlighter, or bronzer.
TIPS: Continue to layer creams under powders, if you prefer to use both

7) Eye shadow
If you’re partial to using cream or gel formulas, make sure to layer those under pencils and powders, says Towne, giving cream shadow some time to set before applying any other eye-area products. When working with a palette, use a neutral hue all over lids first before dabbing your favorite color from lash line to crease.

TIPS:Use a darker hue in the crease to make your eyes look brighter and wider, blending thoroughly so that you can’t tell where one shade stops and the other starts.

8)Eyeliner
Reach for an easy-to-use pencil or chubby stick on the upper lash line, and for an amped-up effect, in the waterlines as well.

TIPS:For a more natural-looking finish, dot a dark brown liner in between lashes on your upper lash line—which can help to make your fringe look way fuller without any mascara.

9)Mascara
This desert-island product (for makeup artists and beauty junkies alike) requires just a few coats to help open your entire face—and make your eyes look way bigger and the whites of your eyes look brighter. Simply wiggle the wand through lashes to avoid clumping from root to tip with a precise hand.

TIPS:If you have oily under eyes, you can skip the bottom lashes, which can result in raccoon eyes.

10)Lip color
With the rise of the seemingly omnipresent lip kit, it can seem like there are a billion ways to fill in your pout. Because I’m a minimalist, I’ll usually just dab a tint or gloss on with my finger and run out the door. If you’re going for staying power or a more pigmented hue, use a lip liner first, tracing not only the edges, but filling in lips, as well.

TIPS:Just remember it’s gonna come off at some point, and then you’ll just have to layer it back on. Ahh, the circle of makeup.
